Cryosurgery- Freeze Pen

Cryosurgery or the Freezpen, is used by our veterinarians to remove benign skin lesions, warts, and small tumors in a quick and precise manner, often with minimal scarring and recovery time.

What is Cryosurgery?

Cryosurgery or the Freezpen, is used by our veterinarians to remove benign skin lesions, warts, and small tumors in a quick and precise manner, often with minimal scarring and recovery time.

How does it work?

The Freezepen device, uses a microjet of cold gas (nitrous oxide) to freeze the targeted area to a temperature of -89°C, causing the tissue to freeze and die.

What are the benefits?

  • Does not require full sedation or anesthesia for your pet. Often only topical numbing cream is used to maximize your pets comfort during the procedure.

  • Precision: These devices allow for precise targeting of the lesion, leaving healthy tissue unharmed.

  • Speed: The procedure is quick, often taking only seconds to freeze the affected area.

  • Minimal scarring: Cryosurgery can leave little to no scarring.

  • Cost-effective: Compared to traditional surgery, cryosurgery is significantly more cost-effective and requires fewer follow-up appointments.

  • Shorter recovery: Recovery time is typically shorter than with traditional surgery.
